Congratulations 2024 Graduates!

Samantha Chaney 

Samantha Chaney will be graduating with a BA in both Neuroscience and Lingusitics and a minor in Psychology. She began as an intern in the Center for Cognitive Neuroscience before joining the Bergelson language lab. For the past year she’s been a math TA as well as a research assistant in the Donohue biology lab. After graduation, she plans to pursue research and rehabilitation of language pathology following brain injury.

Morgan Chumney

Morgan Chumney is a graduating senior double majoring in Linguistics and Computer Science, with a minor in Spanish. While at Duke, she was a member of the Duke chorale, DTech, and the ASL club, and conducted her senior thesis on the role of cultural practices in the preservation of the Gullah language. After graduation, she plans to pursue a career in Natural Language Processing.

Kyerah Etheridge

Kyerah Etheridge is graduating with a major in Sociology and minors in Linguistics and Theater Studies. Post-graduation, Kyerah will be attending law school. She will be studying entertainment or family law. She is thankful for her Duke experience!

Gabrielle Fry

Gabrielle Fry is graduating with a B.S. in Neuroscience and an A.B. in Linguistics as well as a minor in Chemistry. She acted as president of the Duke American Sign Language club as well as the Peer Advocacy for Sexual Health and helped lead the student organization Adopt a Grandparent. She hopes to attend medical school and specialize in neurology after spending a gap year with a position in education to work towards ameliorating linguistic and educational inequalities.

Katherine Horn

After defending her thesis and a semester abroad in Paris, Katherine finished her graduation requirements this past December. In early April, she started her new job at J.P.Morgan Chase working as an analyst, combining her passions for communication and quantitative thinking.

Randi Jennings

Randi Jennings will be graduating with a B.A in Political Science, a minor in Linguistics, and a certificate from the Human Rights program. After graduation, she will be gaining experience in the legal field before applying to law school. She plans to eventually work in appellate law.

Maya Regal

Maya is graduating with a degree in Linguistics and Computer Science. After graduation, she plans to pursue a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology in hopes of working with children as a speech therapist.
